Artwork Specification

Artwork Resolution

Please supply the artwork with the minimum recommended resolution. Anything lower may appear blocky and text could become illegible once printed.

Bleed

Because we print on an oversized sheet, we need the bleed to allow for machine tolerances when we cut the artwork to size.

CMYK Colours

Any files supplied in RGB colour format wil be converted to CMYK for print and colours may change quite significantly from how they appear on screen.

Safe Area

Important artwork elements should be withing the safe area - to make sure it's not covered by the billboard frame.

  • PDF, JPG

    Artwork should be supplied as high resolution PDF or JPG.

  • Outline Fonts

    All fonts should be embedded or converted to outlines. This will avoid any issues when the file is processed.

  • Artwork should be flattened

    Transparencies can cause issues when processing files for print, especially if spot colours or di erent colour formats have been combined. Care should be taken that all knockout and overprint setting are left as default otherwise images and text may disappear or change when printed. You can view an overprint preview in Acrobat that may highlight this before submitting your artwork for print.

    Artwork may only be emailed if the file size is less than 10 megabytes, please phone to pre-arrange this. If your artwork is over 10MB, see below.

    WETRANSFER.COM (OVER 10MB)
    If your artwork is over 10MB, then please upload your artwork at www.wetransfer.com for free. Artwork should be send to outdoor@outofhand.co.uk. In the subject line of your email/wetransfer message, please include your Order Number and Artwork Description (for example: "ARTWORK SUPPLY: 88765 Billboard Name").
