Warehouse Operative

The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the largest arts festival in the world. We are working in partnership with Edinburgh City Council and The Fringe Society again this year and looking for Drivers and Advertisement board fitters to work with us on our Edinburgh Fringe External Advertising Contract.

Out of Hand is an established Design, Print and Distribution specialist based in Bristol and Edinburgh. We are the operators of the official Outdoor Advertisement scheme for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. We have a fantastic reputation for our Print & Distribution services in the Events & Leisure sector and are on the current Edinburgh City Council's approved suppliers list.

Out of Hand is contracted to handle all aspects of the Edinburgh Fringe Outdoor Advertisement scheme, this covers various aspects such as building advertisement structures, installing advertisement boards, maintenance and break down. In 2019, the project saw us install over 7km of posters throughout the entire city and our 2023 project is on track to be on a similar scale.

The Role:

Your primary role will be in supporting the Warehouse Manager, Senior Warehouse Supervisor and Operations Manager with deliveries of Correx poster board into the warehouse, this will involve sorting posters into bays and then using picking lists to group specific posters for the Build Teams to install. You may be expected to download our company specific apps onto your personal phone in order to assist in the flow of information and Proof of Posting process.

All staff must wear company specific uniform and PPE at all times whilst at work. The ideal candidate for this role should be prepared for a fast-paced team environment, where they will be working in a warehouse under direction and responsible for various aspects of this project. You should have experience in this type of work, the ability to undertake physical labouring duties and be able to commit to working the whole duration of the project

Duties to include:

• Supporting the Senior Warehouse Supervisor and Operations Manager to receive and sort poster board deliveries using our custom-built scanning software.
• Supporting the Warehouse Manager and Senior Warehouse Supervisor in receiving, sorting and distributing kit deliveries from our key suppliers.
• Working through picking lists from our bespoke OPS system for our build teams to then install.
• Assist the Senior Warehouse Supervisor with monitoring the maintenance app data.
• Ensure the warehouse is kept to a high level of cleanliness and meets all of the health and safety requirements at all times.
• Representing the Company to all stakeholders.
• Assist with any operational and organisational tasks required by the team.

Further Information

The Project will run from Monday 10th July until Friday 15th September 2023.

We will be running a 7 day a week operation and looking at running some night shifts this year.

Daytime shifts from 8.00am to 6.00pm. Evening shifts from 6.00pm to 2.00am.

Overtime will be available if candidates are interested and paid at an enhanced rate of 1.25 times the standard hourly rate per hour worked over 42.5 hours in the week.

Any evening work undertaken between 10pm and 7am will also equate to an enhanced rate of 1.5 times hourly rate.

Vehicles / insurance and uniforms will be supplied. Must provide your own steel toe cap boots.
