As the Fringe festival buzz continues to build, our design studio has been right at the creative frontline, bringing a bold new range of poster designs to life for this year's performers. The past few weeks have seen our team immersed in deadlines, discovery calls, and more wild ideas than we could count (which is exactly how we like it).

With the 1st and 2nd release artwork deadlines now behind us, we're catching our breath and reflecting on what's been an exciting sprint of collaboration with a diverse lineup of Fringe acts. From experimental theatre troupes and solo comedians to drag performers, musicians, and everything in between, each project challenged the studio to distil a show's essence into a single visual moment, often with a tight turnaround to do it.

Designing for the Fringe is a unique beast. These posters aren't just promotional, they're identity pieces. With thousands of shows competing for attention, our goal was to create artwork that not only stood out but grabbed attention while staying true to each act's voice and vision.

Our Approach

Our process always starts with listening. Every performer comes with their own story, energy, and ambition, and we take the time to understand the brief. From there, it's about experimentation. Fringe audiences expect the unexpected, and so do we.

The customer then receives a few initial variations of the design, and we get feedback and narrow down what they do and don't like, making sure it's an open conversation every step of the way.

Our studio use a range of applications to get to the finished product, including using Blender to fully construct a 3D telephone wire. This allowed the team and the client to position it however they wish and allows for endless possibilities.

While the outdoor artwork deadlines are done, we're still deep in Fringe mode. More print, more posters, and more creative partnerships are ahead, and we couldn't be more excited.

To all the performers we've worked with so far, thank you for trusting us with your vision and to anyone still looking for a poster or flyer that captures your show's spirit, our studio door is always open.
